Pink Madagascar Quartz occurs in clusters of small, well-formed crystals, often parallel-grown, that are translucent to transparent. Their colour is due to irradiation-induced colour centers caused by trace amounts of aluminum and phosphorous. These crystals are very light and heat sensitive, and willfade with prolonged exposure to sunlight.
